General Information

The TNA District Educational Scholarship is an educational scholarship provided by the Tennessee Nurses Foundation to all TNA District Associations in an amount up to $1,000 per fiscal year. The TNF’s fiscal year is July 1 through June 30.

All requests for the TNA District 10 scholarships shall be made to any current TNA District 10 officer serving on the TNA District 10 Board of Directors. Application forms are available from the TNA District 10 officers and members, or you can download the forms as a PDF file from the TNA website, , and click the District Associations tab to District 10. Approval for granting scholarships shall rest with the TNA District 10 Board of Directors. Applicants must complete the application, have satisfactory references, and agree to the terms of this scholarship request.

The TNA District 10 Educational Scholarship is given once a year in the amount of $1000. The number of recipients will be contingent upon the number of qualified applicants. The maximum number of recipients will be two students receiving $500 each. This scholarship is intended to financially support TNA District 10 licensed members and non-licensed nursing students living in TNA District 10 and/or attending a nursing program located in TNA District 10. Potential recipients must be working toward the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

TNA District 10 Scholarship Award Eligibility

1. Applicant must be enrolled in a BSN program of study in an accredited institution of higher education.

2. Applicant must be a current member of TNA District 10 or Tennessee Student Nurses Association (TSNA).

3. Applicant must be a resident of TNA District 10 and/or be attending a nursing program located in TNA District 10.

4. Applicant must submit a completed application as instructed in the application process.

Post Scholarship Recipient Criteria

1. Presentation to TNA District 10 membership of how the awarded scholarship funds have been spent. This is to be an oral presentation during a scheduled TNA District 10 full membership meeting.

Application Process

1. Complete the TNA District 10 Educational Scholarship Application form.

2. Submit by attachment - proof of current enrollment in an accredited BSN program from an institute of higher learning.

3. Submit by attachments – 2 letters of recommendation, one of which is a nursing faculty member of the accredited BSN program attending, and one of which is a current TNA District 10 member.

Selection Criteria

Applications are reviewed once each academic year. The submission deadline for academic year 2017-18 is March 31, 2018. Preference will be given to the following:

1. Leadership potential

2. Community service

3. Active participation in TNA District 10 or TSNA.
