Friday 3rd Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th

Godiva Festival Closures over the 3 days

(1). A closure of any part of Leamington Road, Coat of Arms Bridge Road, and Kenilworth Road between its junctions with A45 and City Centre, as necessary only in the circumstances of an emergency, between 17.00 hours on Friday, 3 July 2009 and 21.00 hours on Sunday, 5 July 2009.

(2). A closure of the following roads on Saturday, 4 July 2009 to allow carnival floats to proceed safely to a point of assembly:-

(a). from 06.00 hours to 14.00 hours:- Priory Street.

(b). from 06.00 hours to 10.00 hours:- Sandy Lane, St Nicholas Street, Light Lane, Radford Road (between Light Lane and City Centre) Upper Well Street, Corporation Street, Hales Street and Fairfax Street.

(c). from 11.30 hours to 15.00 hours:- Bayley Lane and St. Mary's Street.

(3). A closure of the following roads from 12.45 hours to 15.30 hours on Saturday, 4 July 2009 to allow the Godiva Procession:-, Cuckoo Lane, St Michaels Avenue, Priory Row, Jordan Well, Earl Street, High Street, Broadgate, Trinity Street, Hales Street, Corporation Street, Queen Victoria Road, Greyfriars Road, Warwick Road, Ring Road Junction 6, and Kenilworth Road between Leamington Road and Coat of Arms Bridge Road. Bishop Street, Burges, Fleet Street, Spon Street and Warwick Row.

(4). A closure of Leamington Road between Warwick Road and Humphrey Burton's Road from 7.00am to 12.00midnight on Saturday 4 July and at other times if required as temporary safety measure.

Major Event at the Ricoh Arena – Oasis

Significant delays expected on surrounding network,

Saturday 11 July 2009the Following Roads will be closed between 12.00 and 14.30to facilitate the Allesley Festival 2009:-

Browns Lane from the Jaguar Car Park Gate, The Windmill Hill, Rye Hill, Butt Lane, Birmingham Road, Lion Fields Avenue, Barnfield Avenue, Durham Crescent and Antrim Close.

In addition to the above closures, on Sunday 12 July, Staircase Lane and Butt Lane will be closed between 10.15 hours and 12.15 hours to allow the Allesley Festival Fun Run to be startedsafely. (Bablake Ward)

Sunday 19th July

Manor Road footbridge will be closed from 19 July 2009 for approximately 8 weeks to repair and refurbish the footbridge. In addition the on and off slip roads at Ringway St Patricks will be closed on Sunday 19th July and the following consecutive 6 Sundays if required to enable work to the bridge structure to be undertaken.

The diversion route for pedestrians is Manor Road, Park Road, Quinton Road subway and St Patricks Road.

The diversion route for vehicles wishing to exit the clockwise carriageway at junction 6 is Ringway Queens, Ring Road junction 7, Ringway Queens.

The diversion route for vehicles wishing to join the anti clockwise carriageway at junction 6 is also as above.

The Diversion route will be signed.

Sunday 19th July

Upper Hill Street from the entrance to St Osburgs Church to Ringway Hillcross from Sunday 19th July to allow remedial work to be undertaken safely.

Pedestrian access to the subway will not be affected.

For the British Transplant Games Opening Ceremony the following closures will be in place.Priory Street from 10.00 to 21.00 hours and from 17.00 to 21.00:- Bayley Lane, St Mary Street, Earl Street, High Street, Broadgate, Little Park Street (between St John's Street and Earl Street) and Hay Lane.

The diversion route for vehicles in Cuckoo Lane, NewBuildings and Trinity Row will be Broadgate, Greyfriars Lane, Salt Lane and Little Park Street.

Thursday 21 May

Woodway Lane footbridge (over M6) following an emergency closure requested byWest Midlands and Warwickshire Police, this closure has now been advertised to close for a further 6 months while the Highways Agency do further investigations regarding the bridge structure.

St Johns Street West will be closed from 26th May 2009 for 14 months to allow the new Severn Trent Centre Development to be completed.

Traffic will be diverted viaNew Union Street, Little Park Street andSt John's Street. In addition a near side lane closure will be in force on Ringway St John's Eastbound entry slip road. (St. Michael's Ward).

Oak Lane will be closed, between its junctions with the A45 Birmingham Road and Harvest Hill Lane, from 9.00am on Monday, 20th April 2009 for approximately twenty four weeks to allow the safe installation of a sewer main in the carriageway. (Bablake Ward).Traffic will be diverted via the A45, Rye Hill, Birmingham Road, The Windmill Hill, Washbrook Lane and Oak Lane. The south western footway of Upper Well Street will be closed from 7.00am on Monday, 14th May 2007 for approximately eighteen months to allow the construction of the BelgradePlaza development. Pedestrians will be diverted via the north western footway of Upper Well Street. (St. Michael's Ward). Ironmonger Rowis closeddue to the results of investigations in regard to the structural integrity of the underground structure supporting Ironmonger Row. Traffic will be diverted via Trinity Street, Broadgate, High Street, Earl Street, Jordan Well, Cox Street, Fairfax Street. Pedestrian access will be maintained. The closure commenced on Wednesday, 12th March 2008. A completion date for this work has yet to be determined. (St. Michael's Ward)

*The following temporary arrangements were implemented to allow building demolition works to be undertaken safely and continue to be in place to allow construction of the Severn Trent Centre Development.

(a). A closure of part of the carriageway in the cul-de-sac section of Much Park Street.The area of the highway which is closed will be clearly indicated by a hoarding.

(b). A closure of the western footway of Much Park Street between its junction with St. Johns Street and its cul-de-sac end. The closure commenced on Tuesday, 3rd June 2008.
