CNC LATHE MACHINIST

SUMMARY:

The CNC Machinist works under direction of machining supervisor. Setup and run CNC Lathes according to specifications, tooling instructions and standard charts. Supports team collaboration with all functional areas to adhere to quality compliance and safety specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for setup, troubleshooting and operation of CNC lathe machining centers.
  • Ability to set up complex equipment and jobs preferred, but not required.
  • Expected to contribute to continuous improvement in efficiency and quality of production.
  • Completes first article paperwork and in process inspection as required by quality system
  • Understands print and routing interpretation and the use of the product record.
  • Understands machine tool controls.
  • Basic understanding of machine preventive maintenance.
  • Good understanding of cutting tool knowledge, speeds and feeds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 + years’ experience minimum in the setup and operation of CNC lathes
  • Ability to read blueprints and job orders for product specifications, such as dimensions and tolerances.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a positive work history and ability to get along well with others

ADA Physical Mental/Workplace Requirements

  • Works in air-conditioned/heated bright manufacturing area
  • Stands at machine while operating. Sits intermittently.
