Infant Food Bank Coordinator

To enhance the quality of life of individuals and families by providing resources, advocacy, support, and education through the agency’s three program areas of Children’s Services, Violence Against Women Prevention, and Food Security.
Position Summary
The Infant Food Bank Coordinator will report to the Executive Director, and consult with the Shelter and Help Centre Supervisor, as well as work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, community partners, and clients, in the development and implementation of an Infant Food Bank component of Manitoulin Family Resources’Help Centre.
Overview of Key Responsibilities
Operational plan and development of programming pertaining to infant food bank pilot project:
- Networking and developing linkages to community-based programs to develop client support and referral process
- Implementation of best practices of program delivery within Help Centre setting and related policy recommendations
- Statistical data records management, client intake and maintenance of confidential information
- Creating a safe, supportive environment for families to access and engage with other service providers and referrals
- Cultivating relationships with current and potential corporate and individual donors
- Acquiring access to program resources (corp. donations, cost-effective access) to infant/toddler food/dev’t needs
- Support with established Help Centre programming will be required as needed
*Heavy lifting and physical labour is required
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in related field (public health, social work, child development) from an accredited college or university;
- Experience with project management
- Demonstrated experience with fundraising, sustainability planning, and marketing
- Familiarity with food security programs, policies, and best practices
- Superior communication, organizational, and inter-personal skills and demonstrated commitment to diversity and cultural competency;
- Highly motivated, efficient, creative, attentive to detail, and flexible
- Computer and software proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Current CPR/First Aid cert., Food Handler`s Safety cert., valid driver`s license and reliable vehicle, and clear Vulnerable Sector Screening required
Remuneration
The successful candidate will be paid an hourly rate for a 5 month contract, with an average of 18 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling will be required to meet the needs of the program; this position is based out of the main administration office in Mindemoya and is a non-bargaining unit position.
