AICP CM Event Application
Please complete the application below to provide CM credits for your workshop, course, conference, or book club, and attract certified planners from across the New York metro region to your event! Complete this application for either a single activity; a multi-part event; or distance education.

Submit by email to APA New York Metro Chapter’s Professional Development Officer, Fiona Akins at at least four weeks prior to your event. Submit applications in Word.doc or Adobe.pdf form, but not as a scanned copies.
(1) SINGLE ACTIVITY
A single activity is defined as a self-contained, real-time event, such as a workshop (including mobile workshops), lecture, keynote speeches, symposium, or audio/web conference where the lecturer and instructor are participating at the same time and at which participants cannot choose among multiple activities. All participants at a single event attend the same activities and earn the same number of credits.

Demonstrate that the content of this activity is related to planning law, such as environmental law, land use law, redevelopment law, administrative law, housing law, etc. Activities must be closely related to recently enacted planning laws or recent case decisions or trends in existing planning laws or case decisions.
Please note that activities related to local-level regulations, policies and ordinances (including zoning), political movements, policy recommendations, and policy initiatives are not eligible for law credit. Ethics Credits (Optional)
Demonstrate that the content of the activity focuses on training planners on the standards of ethical behavior according to the AICP Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. While general ethics courses, local ethics laws, and ethic codes from other professions can introduce relevant issues as well, the AICP Code focuses on a system of moral principles specific to professional planners. / 2,000 characters maximum.
(2) MULTI-PART EVENT
This is defined as a real-time event with multiple activities, such as a conference with several sessions or multiple registration options. Participants at a multipart event choose between a variety of activities, and individual participants may earn different numbers of credits. CM credits will be awarded for individual activities or sessions, rather than for the event as a whole. The event will appear once on the APA calendar and CM activity list; the individual sessions or activities will appear on the event's detail page.

(3) DISTANCE EDUCATION
A distance education event is an asynchronous learning event, where the learner and instructors are separated by time and are not engaging in the event simultaneously – that is, learning anytime, anyplace, 24/7. The learner may access the material at their convenience. Distance education activities may include online courses, webinars, streaming courses, podcasts, CD-ROMs or downloadable recordings.
