Subject: Recommendation in the case of Mr. /Mr. (name of the student)
To whom it may concern,
This letter of recommendation is provided at the request of (name of the student) who has asked me to serve as a reference on his/her behalf. I have known (name of the student) for the past two years as s/he has taken the writing courses I teach and also participated in our community work team last year when I worked as a team advisor.
In our writing class, students are asked to bring a newspaper article dealing with a current problem to be analyzed in the class. Then, they are asked to offer solutions and write an essay for or against one of the solutions offered by their classmates. (Name of the student)’s multi-dimensional perspective on analyzing the problem and his/her not hesitating to ask questions while discussing were what made him/her the rare student. His/Her essays exhibited originality and depth. There were; however, some weaknesses in his/her essays. S/He failed to supply illustrative examples and s/he made mistakes in mechanics. Nevertheless, with some guidance s/he showed satisfactory progress in editing his/her own work. (Name of the student) is the type of student who applies advice to improve himself/herself. S/he worked so hard that s/he improved his/her homework scores to the extent that s/he almost achieved an overall grade of 5.
In our community work team, we try to show that students can get responsibility and get out students to demonstrate their leadership, creativity and communication skills. (Name of the student) played an active and important role in organizing conferences and school trips. On one occasion, s/he used our web site efficiently to announce our trip to Çanakkale. On the other hand, when I wanted him/her to give verbal feedback to one of the conferences, s/he had some difficulty finding the right words to express his/her thoughts to his/her friends. A problem, which I believe, could be eliminated with some more reading work and experience.
I have confidence in (name of the student)’s abilities and I believe s/he will be a successful student in the business programme for which s/he is applying. I strongly recommend (name of the student) for admission to your university.
Please feel free to contact me if you need further information.
Sincerely,
