Technology Intern – Seasonal Position

Freedom School Partners has seasonal employment opportunities available.

Timeline: May 8th, 2017 through August 4th, 2017, Monday through Friday. Average will be 40 hours per week.

Compensation: $8.00/hr. (40 hours per week maximum). Will be reimbursed for mileage, based on mileage rate.

The primary role of the Technology Intern is to provide support to our Freedom School Partners sites in the aspect of technology. Making sure that it is set up properly and maintained throughout the summer. They will also be providing support to the central office when the work load is light at the sites. Main responsibilities of Technology Intern include, but are not limited to:

  • Setting up and connecting computers to the Wi-Fi and ensuring that all necessary documents are loaded properly onto the computer, and wireless printing for each printer at each site.
  • Accommodating requests that may come through sites in terms of technology use in the classrooms
  • Train and support the site to understand the technology and the options that they have.
  • Updating raw data by doing an automatic data dump from Wufoo into an Excel Spreadsheet using Magi-Metrics, populating Volunteerhub, and Data entry projects
  • Performing receptionist duties such as answering phones, and greeting volunteers or members of the community that may be present, when needed.

Job Requirements

  • Familiarity with SharePoint or another cloud based platform, and an in-depth knowledge of how computers work.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, outgoing, and task oriented
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Office products especially Word and Excel
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Finished at least 2nd or 3rd year of college
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time
