Dear Colleague,
AGE, the European Older People’s Platform, aims to promote the wide range of interests of older people in the European Union. Within this context, AGE is actively involved in OASIS, a new Integrated Project, partly funded by the European Commission. OASIS aims to utilize Information and Communication Technologies and other key technologies in order to provide holistic services to older people i.e. revolutionize interoperability, quality, breadth and usability of services addressed to older persons, aiming at supporting their physical and cognitive independence and stimulating their social participation.
From a technological point of view OASIS promises to provide relevant innovations over the state-of-the art in areas such as Open Reference Architecture and Ontologies, Intelligent Agents and AMI Framework, Wearable sensors for elderly health and activity monitoring, In-home and Domotic Sensors, Independent Living Applications and Autonomous Mobility and Smart Workplaces Applications.
To reach it aims and objectives the project is organising a User Forum on 8 October 2008 in Brussels encouraging multi-stakeholder participation and fostering discussions between industry, cities and end users to ensure the development of technologies and services that meet the needs of older people. Please find enclosed the draft agenda.
The consortium partners are pleased to invite you to join this forum. Your expertise and collaboration will be vital to the success of the project and for the well being of older people. Please join us by registering below.
We look forward to welcoming you at the event!
Kindest regards,
Isabel Borges, AGE Policy Officer Kusuto NAITO, AGE Research Project Assistant
