  1. To measure the healthy eating habit of high school students.

Are these groups having healthy eating habits?

How can we improve the over all adaptation to eating right within these group of adolescent?

Refining the Problem

  1. The reason for this assessment is to understand and measure the healthy eating habit of high school student and how we can improve it. The groups that we would be assessing are from age 15-19 years of age. The population we cater to are adolescent population where eating healthy can be a complication. They are located in a rural area of the town and there isn’t much of a healthy choice variety.
  2. I am going to be using a rating scale to gather information from the adolescent. I will be conducting a pre-test and a follow up test with the individual that includes a four week plan
  3. For the pre-test I will be evaluating the type of food that needs to be change, the type of exercise that is durable for these group of individuals and how to implement these techniques in our schools. The questions for the pre-test will include all of the following: what is the importance of having a balance diet? How can eating in excess affect your health in the long run? What types of foods areconsisting of protein, carbohydrate and iron? For the post-test the questions will consists of: would like to change anything about the food menu? On a scale of 1-5 how satisfied are you with the food changes? How motivated are you to eat healthier after this program?Do you implement the meal plans from this program in your meal at home?

Instrumentation and Methodology

  1. The scale will range from 1-5 1 being I strongly disagreed 2 being I disagreed 3 being I moderately agreed and disagreed 4 being I agreed and 5 being I strongly agreed.
  2. The administrator needs to observe the nutrition of the participant and also need to work with the food administrators in the school to observe what is being served to the individual and how it can be modified. The administrators will use the pre-test to see how knowledgeable the individuals are about healthy eating and to see if they know how much calories they supposed to consume daily.

Analysis and Results

  1. The results is to be able to analysis the need of the students and from the pre-test and post-test that would help the administrators see what needs to be changed or what needs to be implemented. This would also help the students see if they are doing something right with their health overall. If they get 15 and above it means they are doing well and we can add more healthy food to the menu and if they get below that it means that we need to change something.
