Technical Information

Additions

  • Client-server communication may be implemented. Server activates all system services and has its own client (no configuration required).Your PC operating mode is determined during installation. Instructions may be found here:
Under Setup | General: define if server/workstation is used as a server or as a client.
    Server:Select the Server radio button.
Client:Select the Client radio button. The following fields are enabled:
Service Computer Name (server name) is inserted here during server installation. If not please fill-in.
Program Server Locationis inserted here during server installation. If not fill-in server location under SY-Bridge folder using UNC. Client must have administrator permissions on this folder.
If client is to stop/run service it must have full administrator permissions on server and Enable Start/Stop Service checkbox must be check-marked.
Please note: The Personnel Management module may be used only by a single userat a time.
  • Multi-language support:
    - When changing Lang to another name (for example Lang1), SY-Bridge uses its innate English for UI. If this folder name remains Lang, all files under this folder will be used for UI.
    - For text direction go toGeneral | Language choose either English (left-to-right) or any
other language (Second Language is right-to-left).
    - Hebrew is fully supported in all software modules.
  • Uninterrupted service (SY-Server). Service does not stop running when configuring Terminals, Groups and Automation settings.
  • SQL compatibility (SYnergy): SQLight.dll enables performing data collection on SYTransactions files in SQL format with and without the involvement of WS.

Setup Module

TDCS:
- Telephony reporting enabled via SY-Bridge. Under Personnel Management | TDCS it is possible to allocate predefined telephones for employee reporting. Values under PhoneList signifies the following:
0 = Allow reporting from any number.
[Group number] = Reporting enabled for all telephone numbers assigned to a specified group (by number).
[Telephone number/s] = Allowed to report via the specified number/s only.
=Reporting enabled via all telephone numbers indicated.
- PhonNo Length section: SY-Bridge validates telephone numbers received during telephony reporting as per the defined number of digits defined in this field, which are readfrom right-to-left in the TDCS validation table.

- SYnergyFPOP5supported. A new fingerprint unit identical in format to SY7XX terminals. - Under Terminal Default Settings | Terminal Name | Add to query buffer it is possible to add terminal name to collect.Data header.

Devices
-CASD: Automatic shutdown of PC may be implemented when reporting exit via telephone (implemented by Synel technical support personnel).
Automation:
- Automation may be performed on a group of terminals.
- Unmarking the Active checkbox cancels automation.
General:
- Activity Buttons | Commands tab | SYnergy section: Reset is performed automatically after programming, setting of terminal parameters and network parameters. Define only the Wait After parameter to allow terminal to completeboot up (default is 20seconds for Reboot, 1 for Reset).
DLL:
TMM DLL can activate another DLL.

Terminal ConfigurationModule

SYnergy:
- Multi-functional function keys: Functions and Function keys have been separated. Several functions may now be assigned to one function key. When double-pressing the function key a dropdown list opens enabling the user to select a desired function.
- General: Check the Enable checkbox in the Camera Messages section. When error message code 199 occurs when reporting is performed, a picture will be taken.
- Step | Scrolling: User may view elaborate information by scrolling terminal screens.

Communication Module

- When operating SY-Bridge by default all terminals are disabled, and must be enabled selectively by user.
- When client is operated it checks if WS is running, if not it runs the WS – for QLM check purposes.
- Activities: As of SYnergy firmware version 3.0.4.2.0 it is possible to Reset the application instead of Rebooting it (saves time).
- A progress bar was added reflecting communication activities progress.
- As of SYnergy firmware version 3.0.4.2.0 a hash file is used for sending files to terminal.
- When retrieving files from terminal, file is saved as *.tmp file, if file integrity is verified it will be saved by its name.
Maintenance| SYnergy Management:
- Restore SYnergy Data files (Terminals)/(Computer): Terminal or PC SQL files may be
repaired.
-Fix SQL Transaction File: A damaged SQL file may be restoredby
specifying its location and a destination for the restored files.
- Backup System:
- A new Alert after x dayscheckbox was added to remind user to perform system backup every predefined period.
- Server To Backup: External backup to an address defined in this field.
Utilities:
-Restore Data (Text): After restoring of data files they may be transferred to DLL for further activities by marking the Transfer to DLL checkbox.
-Day Light Saving:Day light saving time may be sent to terminal as per a predefined date and time.

Personnel Management

When using Importing from file… (right click mouse on table), it is now possible to assign more than one *.csv column to one column in any personnel management table (For example, name and family name).

Bugs Fixed

1. / SY7XX FP terminals: when using a binary protocol, while two fingerprint units were connected would cause problems in older terminal version not supporting binary protocol. Binary protocol is now used by default only when working with two FP units.
2. / Fingerprints are sent via WS in 100 blocks. WS would send only the first 100 fingerprint block.
3. / SYnergy would jam when over 100 templates were sent via WS.
