Inserting the cent sign

The cent sign is not a symbol that is used much anymore, but just in case you need to use it frequently, here’s how to do it.

Click Insert on the main tool bar. Click Symbol. When the following box opens, select Microsoft Sans Serif.

Click on the cent symbol. If you are only going to insert it once and probably never again, click on Insert.

If you are going to use it frequently, click on Shortcut Key.

The following box will open.

In the box under Press new shortcut key, you can assign either a single key or a combination. In this case I held down Ctrl and touched the accent key (above the tab key).

Click Assign and then Close.

Now whenever you want a cent sign, just hold down Ctrl and touch the accent. ¢¢¢¢¢¢¢ J
