Team Values and Norms Peer Review – Please rate each member based on criteria established (available on EDGE under ‘Team Values and Norms’) – place X in the appropriate rating and provide comments

Punctual

Each team member will be prompt and arrive at the team meetings on time. If an unexpected conflict comes up, the absent team member will notify at least one team-mate prior to the expected absence. An absent team-member should confirm that a team-mate has received their message (in person, voice mail, email, etc.).

Thorough

Each team member will complete their tasks thoroughly and completely, so that the work does not have to be re-done by a peer on the team. This also means that they will efficiently share their results at the end of their task with the remainder of their team. They will inform their fellow teammates consistently of their progress and intended completion date. If a member does not know how to complete a task, feels overwhelmed, or needs assistance then the member notifies peers, and seeks assistance either from a peer, the faculty guide, a faculty consultant, or another person.

*Overall I think that the team could do more to document where information has come from and contacts that are made. That being said, the work that is done my each team member is up to the standard that I feel are acceptable.

Accurate

Each team member completes their work accurately and in a way that can be easily checked for accuracy by peers and the faculty guide. All work is fully documented and easy to follow. A clear Problem Statement is included where applicable. All members are expected to keep an accurate list of works cited throughout the project and document all of their citations throughout all research.

*I completely trust my team and their work that is turned in. I feel that everyone feels equally responsible and accountable for this project and I have no concerns so far in this project on this point.

Demonstrates the core RIT values of SPIRIT.

Committed

Each team member will contribute an equal share to the success of the project. Each team member will be committed to both helping and encouraging other team members with their individual assignments. Hence, everyone is committed to the success of the team and understands that everyone must contribute in order to have a successful team and project. Each member is also responsible for realizing their limits, and informing the group of these limits. No one should be expected to take on more work than they are able to accomplish, within reason.

*I think that the Sergey, Wayne and Myself have a habit of volunteering first to complete the work that needs to be turned in based on the fact that we have more resources here at RIT. I believe that in order to identify all issues that could be encountered in Dubai and not burning ourselves out, we should delegate more to the other 3 members of our team.

**With that said…. I think that the team in Dubai could/should jump in more in our meetings. I do not want the team at RIT to be delegating to team in Dubai. I feel that if this continues it could demotivate the team in Dubai and have them feel as though they are not as connected to the project (therefore less committed).

-This is only my opinion, I do not know if this is truly the case with team Dubai-

Communication Protocol

Each member will check their email account at least twice a day (once in the morning and once in the evening) in order to monitor all team communications. Each member will also conduct a weekly reading of meeting minutes, and complete a weekly update of project logbooks. Each member will weekly post latest Google document revisions to EDGE. Open Communication will be maintained throughout this class experience, including during all meetings or correspondence. Each team member agrees to speak up if they disagree with the group, to listen fully to the concerns of others, respect others ideas and opinions, and to adopt a consensus format of decision making where decisions will be based on finding a solution that everyone can live with. During video communications, the members listening to the speaker will acknowledge the understanding/hearing of the speaker with a nod or a thumbs up sign to avoid loss of communication as well as allow for a break in conversation before speaking.
