Team Rules and Code of Conduct

I promise to abide by all of the following rules for conduct and behavior while participating in the El Paso Panthers Running Club program.

  1. Respect:
  2. Our team will operate with full respect to/from athletes, coaches and all volunteer staff.
  3. Any misconduct of respect to include inappropriate language in all means of communication will not be tolerated.
  4. If any issues do arise, with an adult on the team or with an athlete, in full respect, we ask that a parent lets us know. We can’t address the situation without full knowledge.
  1. Practices:
  2. All athletes must attend and participate in at least two practices per week. Those who do not participate in the required number of practices will not be registered for that next scheduled meet.
  3. Those athletes missing for personal reasons (vacation, family emergency, etc.) must notify their coach as soon as possible, as the policy above still remains but we ask for communication.
  4. Relay members missing without approval may be replaced by alternates at the coaches’ discretion.
  1. Meetings, Events, Activities and Fund-Raising:
  2. Parent meetings are mandatory and necessary for proper planning for team events, meets, travel, entries, etc.
  3. All Athletes are expected to attend and participate in all team functions, meetings, fund-raising activities and events. Attendance is mandatory. Non-participation will limit subsidizing of expenses.
  4. All funds, donations, contributions and solicitations are to be turned in to the Panthers organization to be used by the Panthers organization. Any violation will be considered theft.
  5. Regional and National travel expenses are the responsibility of the individual athlete and his/her family. The El Paso Panthers Running Club will subsidize as much of these expenses as possible. To be eligible for team travel subsidies, full participation in fundraising activities is required.
  1. Travel:
  2. All travel arrangements to and from meets will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
  3. Misbehavior while traveling with the team will result in removal from the event.
  1. Relays:
  2. Relays are a representation of the team as a whole, and commitment to participate on a relay also expresses intention to travel to Regionals and Nationals for competition as a member of the relay team.
  3. Failure to commit to travel places undue hardship and disappointment on other relay team members.
  4. Do not participate in a relay team when travel to Regionals/Nationals is known to not be an option.
  5. El Paso Panthers Running Club will subsidize athletes travel to the extent that club funds are available and the athletes’ family has participated in fundraising. This understanding not constitutes automatic participation in a relay team.
