Team Responsibilities at Game Time

Managers, coaches, players, and parents of both teams will work together to complete all necessary responsibilities for every game.

Managers & Coaches

will share the following duties:

Before the first game of the day/night (Majors & Rookies)…

A. Unlock the field, dugout lockers (keys are in the cash box), concession stand and bathroom gate.

B. Turn on field lights when needed and turn on the water valve to the bathrooms.

B. Line the field and prepare it for play.

(You may use the tractor and drag the field if necessary)

C. Turn in a lineup card to the score booth, umpire, and other team.

After the last game of the day/night (Seniors & Rookies)…

A. Clean up trash in dugouts and sweep. If garbage cans are full please empty and reline cans. Make sure lids are on tight.

B. Rake the field in high traffic areas.

(You may use the tractor and drag the field if necessary)

C. Turn off the water valve to the bathrooms.

D. Make sure all of the locks are locked around the field.

C. Turn out field lights & lock concession stand!

(Make sure everyone is done and ready to go!)

Visiting Team

will share in the following duties:

Before the first game of the day/night…

  • Open the concession stand and prepare for business. Ice down the coolers, set out food items and condiments. The cash box will be delivered to you.
  • Set out trash cans (remove lids), making sure all have liners.
  • The grill is in the fenced-in area behind the visitor’s dugout. Hamburgers are in the freezer. Hotdogs cheese & condiments are in the little refrigerator. Buns, candy & chips are kept under the red “counter top” in the concession stand (set the candy out on the ledge to be seen).
  • Two volunteers will be needed to work the concession stand, one inside and one volunteer to work the grill and fryer (must be an adult). If a child under the age of 12 is working the concession stand, an adult must work with them.

After the last game of the day/night…

  • Put away the grill.
  • Restock drink coolers if necessary.
  • Clean up and store all of the concession food. Close down the concession stands and lock.

Home Team

will share in the following duties:

Before the first game of the day/night…

  • Raise the flag
  • Check the bathrooms for clean & paper.
  • Set up scoreboard and sound equipment. (Rookies – the scoreboard is only needed for the timer and the sound equipment may be used to announce the girls names.)
  • Two volunteers will be needed to run the score booth, one for the official scorebook, the other to run the scoreboard and announce the game.

After the last game of the day/night…

  • Lower and fold the flag and store back in the concession trailer.
  • Pick up any garbage around the spectator area. Empty all full or nearly full trash cans and add new liners if necessary. (A volunteer with a truck can take the garbage to the dumpster at the boy’s field.) Store the cans back in the storage area and make sure lids are on.
  • Break down and store all the scoreboard and sound equipment (everything back into the concession trailer).
  • Clean up bathrooms, turn off the water valve and lock the gate.
