Senior Accountant/Assistant Controller
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as an administrator of general ledger, responsible for maintaining chart of accounts, creating new accounts
- Lead the month-end closing duties and complete journal entries
- Responsible for and prepares internal month-end financial statements and specifically-identified account reconciliations
- Responsible for the completion of the monthly SG&A budget vs. actual reports and all associated analysis, including budget to actual and prior year actual to current year actual, month on month and YTD, fluctuation analyses, with explanations, and ad-hoc reports
- Responsible for all payroll associated journal entries and reconciliations
- Lead FP&A efforts, with guidance from CFO and Controller
- Maintain and manage, as appropriate Finance, Operating and Sales metrics compilation and reporting
- Daily reporting of bank transactions; preparemonthly bank reconciliations
- Provide weekly cash requirements to CFO
- Work closely with CFO on cash flow forecasting and specifically-identified modeling efforts and sensitivity analyses of the business
- Manage and maintain fixed asset ledger, including the administration of all capital expenditures and depreciation
- Assist with the annual physical inventory and all associated reconciliations
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Sales to handle various requests
- Assist with the annual external audit process
- Perform other Accounting duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- Demonstrated experience with ERP systems required; Epicor experience a plus
- Several years of experience with financial analysis, preferably a FP&A analyst or 2 years of public accounting
- GAAP experience, at a professional level, a plus
- Must be self-directed, a self-starter
- CPA and/or MBA a plus
- Motivated with aspirations to advance through personal and professional development opportunities
Competencies
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, Power Point, and Word, with a special emphasis on Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Strong ability to analyze large amounts of data and provide insight to employees outside of Finance
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work well in groups as both a team member and a team leader as situations dictate
