“Is it Possible: A Series on Hope”

What does God say to us about hope?

Jeremiah 29:11 TLB

For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Romans 15:13 NIV

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Cause Of Hopelessness:

1. Longevity of problems (Pain)

2. Compounding trouble (Bombardment)

3. Loss of vision

One woman’s story:

Mark 5:24(b)-34 NIV

And a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him. Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

We don’t know her name, age, how she grew up, or story after.

Her Life: Symptom, Denial, Doctors, Diagnosis, and Depression

After 12 years she now is Poor, Hopeless and Dying slowly daily.

The Cause Of Hope:

  1. A Reason To Hope (when she heard about Jesus)

Real Hope vs. False Hope

Conclusion: Hope and Faith

Hebrews 11:1 NKJV

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
