We were rated as good by Ofsted in June 2016 and our students achieved 68% A* to C in English and maths GCSE in August 2017. We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic Scienceteacher with a Biology specialism. Science is a keyfaculty within the school and a popular choice at A level, particularly in Physics, Biology and Psychology.We have a well-resourced Science block, with 7 laboratories, a computer room and technicians supporting our Science teachers. Students follow the Activate KS3 programme and then the AQA syllabus at GCSE (combined or triple). We also run many trips and projects that link with local schools and Science organisations.
All Fitzharrys staff benefit from our induction programme and our comprehensive CPD programme as part of a school community committed to getting the best from everyone. We provide structured support for newly qualified colleagues. Fitzharrys grows leaders, both for internal posts and promotion to other schools. Through our focus on high quality teaching and learning, good behaviour and great children, our school achieved record results at GCSE and A Level in 3 consecutive years. Current year groups are building even further on this success, indicative of a school with a bright future supported by a positive culture for learning.
