English 11-5 is the first part of a survey of American literature. This trimester, we will cover two large units, Persecution and American Freedom and its Inherent Hypocrisies. The two larger works of literature are a play, The Crucible, and a novel, The Kite Runner. Also included are short stories, poems, nonfiction articles, and historical documents. You will also write a short research paper and learn about MLA format. All assignments and papers will be uploaded into Canvas, turnitin.com, or the Google drive. I will link all class materials into Canvas as well, so you can refer to them when studying or if you are absent.
