Teacher Center News

Dear Colleagues:

I have begun designing winter and spring class offerings based on spring 2014 survey responses. These include continued graduate course offerings, Adolescent Psychology cohort interest, NYSUT-ELT three-hour seminars, Advanced Google Apps for Education, Chromebook 101 and Tech Tools for Supporting the Common Core.

Are you interested in knowing more about Discovery Education audio and visual educational opportunities in the classroom? Jackie Gilmartin will offer a new course, Integrating Discovery Education Digital Media Content Into The Classroom on Saturday, November 15. Join Jackie for an in-depth look at the extensive library of educational materials our District enjoys with our subscription.

Check out For your information….there are four exciting prospects for teachers interested pursuing educational advancement and professional development with a Holocaust presentation, BrainPOP training, BOCES online courses, Newsday’s Future Corps, and non-contact coaching certification.

I encourage my colleagues to contact me with course suggestions and professional development opportunities this 2014-2015 school year.

I look forward to hearing from you!
