TE RADAR generates power using his noggin.

Every Tuesday night on TVNZ, “Radar across the Pacific”, starring Te Radar, was seen generating power using his noggin.

In his several destinations, we saw him visit Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Island and Kiribati. The purpose of this journeys: meeting NZ ex-pats, local families, politicians and learn more about each country to better understand the connections between these cultures and the Kiwi culture.

Travelling with Te Radar is his ever present satirical wit, and his respect for the environments of the places he visits. And so on every episode, Te Radar was always seen wearing his personal power generator on his head, the 2C Solar Light Cap, the green technology, award winning, New Zealand invention.

When we discussed his decision to take the 2C Solar Light cap on his adventures, Te Radar said “I need a hat during the day and a torch during the night because sometimes where I go there is no electricity, so its really useful to wear this cap”. He was looking for something to provide him a hands-free light, that will take him further in his outdoor experiences. By not needing to include batteries or battery chargers in his luggage, he can travel lighter.

And because the 2C Solar Light Cap is worn on his noggin, Te Radar doesn’t worry about running out of daylight because he’s already wearing a light. The 2C Solar Light Cap generates power from the limitless energy of the sun, and stores it during the day in rechargeable internal batteries. With no batteries to dispose of along his adventures, Te Radar is also looking after the environment.

Already known in 22 countries, the 2C Solar Light Cap has found a Kiwi spokesperson. “You spend the day protecting yourself from the sun and at night, then you can just use that daylight…” says Te Radar. It’s an easy way to SAVE Money and SAVE the Planet.

What can be better than a famous New Zealander wearing a New Zealander’s invention to look after the environment and provide the benefit of years of free light?

The 2C Solar Light cap that Te Radar wears was invented in New Zealand by the Christchurch based 2C Light Company and was designed for outdoor adventure and other extreme circumstances such as natural disasters. Many people grabbed their trusty 2C to light their way to safety after the Christchurch earthquakes, and then to provide them light for many days of power cuts.

Don’t be caught without a light – use your noggin!
