Transportation Department1 -Mid Day Bus Operator

Compensation will be at the minimum wage rate for actual hours driven but not less than $20.00 per day.

Pick up students and depart Anna Jarvis Elementary School at approximately 11:30 a.m. and return bus garage approximately 12:30 p.m.

JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:Bus Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1.Obeys all traffic laws.

  1. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
  1. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
  1. Reports undisciplined when students are on the bus.
  1. Keeps assigned bus clean.
  1. Keeps to assigned schedule.
  1. Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
  1. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
  1. Discharges students only at authorized stops.
  1. Exercises responsible leadership when on extra-curricular school trips.
  1. Transports only authorized students.
  1. Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
  1. Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
  1. Uses tire chains when roads are icy; must be able to put chains on own bus.
  1. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the superintendent or immediate supervisor may from time to time, assign.
