Closing date for entries: Saturday 7th October 2017
Entries received after the closing date will only be accepted if target space is still available and subject to a late entry fee of £1.00. We recommend that you get your entry in early to avoid any disappointment.
PLEASE NOTE - YOUR CSSC SPORTS & LEISURE NUMBER MUST BE SHOWN ON YOUR ENTRY FORM IF YOU WISH TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE CSSC CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS.
Please ensure that your current CSSC membership card is available at this meeting for possible verification.
If you are a member of the Civil Service Sports Council and a Target Rifle Shooter this is your opportunity for a full day’s shooting at bargain rates, thanks to the generous sponsorship by CSSC Sports and Leisure. You have a good chance of winning one or more of the many trophies and prizes.
Non members are also welcome to take part in accordance with paragraph 2.2 below and enjoy entry fees at attractive rates, together with the opportunity to win various open or reserved prizes.
Please Note: Short-range events will be held in the morning, on the Century Range, commencing at 08.30 sharp and long-range events in the afternoon, on Stickledown Range, commencing at 1330.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
1.CONTROL
By kind permission of the Secretary, the control room for the shoot will be located in the Army Rifle Association Clubhouse, situated at the Stickledown end of Queen’s Way..
Squadding information and ammunition will be issued from Veranda Room from 08.00 on Saturday 8th October. Competitors will be squadded for all shoots and details of targets will be available.
2.ENTRY
2.1.Is open to established and temporary Civil Servants, and employees of organisations approved by CSSC Sports and Leisure (e.g. the Post Office and British Telecom). Retired Civil Servants and retired employees of organisations approved by CSSC Sports and Leisure are also eligible to compete. To be eligible for the trophies a competitor must be a member of the CSSC.
2.2.Is open to invited friends of members, and associate members of clubs affiliated to the CSSC Target Shooting Association. These competitors are eligible for cash prizes but not the trophies, with exceptions of the Veteran's medal, and the Allcomer's tankard. As additional recognition for the 2017 meeting there will be special reserved prizes for non-CSSC members in the Grand, Long Range, and Short Range Aggregates.
3.CONDITIONS OF SHOOTING.
These will be in accordance with the regulations for shooting laid down in the 2017 National Rifle Association Bisley Meeting Programme which can be viewed and downloaded from the NRA website. Particular attention of competitors is drawn to Range Safety and the duty of Register Keepers to ensure that each firer's rifle has been cleared before leaving the firing point.
To conform with the 2017 regulations, please note that each firer must be in possession of a current Certificate of Safety and Competence.
To assist with the running of the meeting, competitors may be asked to help as Range Officer for not more than one detail during the day.
- RIFLES.
Rifles must conform to the National Rifle Association Target Rifle Description in rule 150 of the 2017 Bisley Rifle Meeting programme and be in calibre 7.62mm NATO or 0.308 inch Winchester. The attention of competitors is drawn in particular to the dimensional safety requirements specified for the barrel and chamber.
- AMMUNITION
Match grade 155gr ammunition will be used for all events. In order to keep costs down all fired cartridge cases and spare rounds must be returned to the Range Officer. Score cards will not be accepted if this is not done.
6.DISPUTES
The appointed Range Officer shall be in sole charge of each range. Any disputes which may arise from a decision of the range officer will be referred to a Range Committee that is composed of at least three members of the CSSC Target Shooting Association General Council who may be present, their decision being final.
7.CLASSIFICATION
All competitors will be classified as follows: -
Class "X" One who is Class "X" under National Rifle Association Rules.
Class "A" One who is Class "A" under National Rifle Association Rules.
Class "O" One who is neither class "X", "A" or class "T".
Class "T" One who is Class "T" under National Rifle Association Rules or has never won an open prize of £3.00 or more at any other Target Rifle Meeting, or one who has never won an open list prize at a CSSC Sports and Leisure Target Rifle Championship Meeting. (Prize lists reserved for Tyros do not count for this rule).
8.TIE SHOOTS
The only tie shoots which shall take place will be in the event of two or more competitors having equal scores in the Grand Aggregate for the Duke of Connaught Cup; the Short Range Aggregate for the John Goodman Golden Jubilee Plaque; the Long Range aggregate for the Captains Cup; and the tyro's competition for the Presidents Cup and provided that counting out is not possible by distance scores.
9.PRIZE LISTS
For each competition there will be an open cash prize list run as an optional sweepstake, except for the team competition for the Victory Shield, the President's Target Rifle Cup competition, and the Privett Cup competition. In the open prize lists all competitors with equal scores will take precedence as follows: -

Prize money allocation will be in accordance with the percentages shown in the table below, to the extent that entries allow: -
1st Prize30%:Provided that no prize shall be less than £2.00.
2nd Prize22.5%:There may also be a number of reserved prizes
3rd Prize15% in each competition for class T" (depending on
4th Prize10% how many there are). The amount available for
5th Prize7.5% prize money depends on the entry and running
6th-8th Prizes5% each. costs.
As recognition for those CSSC members who achieve a Highest Possible Score at any distance, souvenir crosses will now be awarded in accordance with rule 886 of the NRA 2017 Bisley Meeting Programme.
10.PRIZE DISTRIBUTION
Cash prizes will be available for collection from the Veranda Room as soon as possible after the end of each competition.
The trophies and special prizes for non-CSSC members will be presented in the same location at approximately 6.00pm or earlier on Saturday 14th October and winners are earnestly requested to attend.

Competition 1 :2ss and 10 to count at 300 yards, commencing 08.30 sharp.
Competition 2 :2ss and 10 to count at 500 yards.
Competition 3 :2ss and 10 to count at 600 yards.
Competition 4 :Aggregate of competitions 1 and 2.
Competition 5 :Aggregate of competitions 2 and 3.
Competition 6 :Short Range Aggregate, competitions 1, 2 and 3.
Competition 7 :Class "T" entrants only, aggregate as for No. 6.
Saturday 14th October (pm)
Competition 8 :2ss and 15 to count at 900 yards, commencing 13.30.
Competition 9 :2ss and 15 to count at 1000 yards.
Competition 10 :Long Range Aggregate, competitions 8 and 9.
Competition 11 :Grand Aggregate, competitions 1, 2, 3, 8 and 9.
Competition 12 :Inter-Departmental Match: Teams of three, competition 6
to count.
Competition 13 :The Privett Aggregate. Aggregate of competition 11 and
the score obtained in the 2017 Spring Smallbore Postal Competition.
NOTE: For the 2017 Championships, Convertible sighters are permitted.

Open to teams of three who must be civilian personnel from the same department, Establishment, Ministry, CSSC approved body, and so forth. Scores made in Competition 6.

1st.The Cup and CSSC TSA engraved goblet.
2nd.CSSC TSA Silver Medal.
The NRA BRONZE MEDAL: Competition 6.
To be awarded to the CSSC TSA member making the highest score in Competition 6 and who has not previously won one (in silver or bronze).
13. TROPHIES FOR ALLCOMERS.
The ALLCOMER'S TANKARD: Competition 11.
Awarded to the top "Allcomer" in the Grand Aggregate.
The VETERANS MEDAL: Competition 11.
Awarded to the top Allcomer in Competition 11 who is over 60 years of age on the 14th October 2017.
RESERVED PRIZES FOR NON-CSSC MEMBERS.
Special engraved glass goblets will be awarded for competitions 6, 10 and 11.
