Take out Your Completed Homework Packet on Robots

STEM – Friday 9/01

  1. Take out your Language Arts notebook with your Imitation Game excerpt and SOAPStone chart.
  2. Take out your completed homework packet on robots.
  3. Fill out the OPTIC chart.

ONGOING:

  1. Your typed MLA Paper is due Tuesday, Sept. 5th – 100 points MINOR grade; you will earn 100% once your paper is entirely correct.
  1. Submit to Turnitin.com. – excluding Works Cited page percentages, your writing should only have up to a 30% similarity.
  2. RULES OF ACADEMIC WRITING -Written papers should have mostly your words (70-80%), the remaining is a combination of paraphrases with citations and direct quotes with citations. You should have more paraphrases with citations than direct quotes with citations.
  3. If turnitin.com is flagging your sentence you must investigate; most probably you need to add a citation.
  4. Works Cited page – following examples on handouts on my blog page (I showed your where to find this in class), research how to do your citation perfectly. Easy Bib, Citation Machine, etc. are not always accurate.
  5. The Works Cited page – each citation must have an internal citation match (in the body of the paper).

Next Week: - Finish “Artificial Intelligence” packet; in class write- synthesis paper Thursday or Friday.
