Sync Framework: Enterprise Data in the Cloud and on Devices

Speakers

Liam Cavanagh, Sr. Lead Program Manager,
Liam started off by describing about business data hubs, what they are and why businesses should create them. He then introduced "Huron"—which is a SQL Server Data Services integration with Sync Services that helps you in creating a business data hub by synchronizing your Access data and data from other Microsoft databases to SQL Data Services in the cloud. He then moved on to an Access to SQL Data Services demo. Liam started off with an Access database and published it to SQL Data Services using a wizard within Microsoft Access. He demoed how forms, reports, tables, and the / Mentioned Technologies

He explained moving data from the Edge to Cloud Services. When is Huron built on top of the Sync Framework, users can utilize all its power. Liam explained the Huron architecture and its layered approach next, before moving on to a demo for supporting a custom database into Huron.
Liam showed us a demo of supporting custom databases. Then, Liam also explained how, with a Sync service, in the future we will be able to support non-Microsoft devices and data stores. Moving on to the roadmap for Huron, Liam explained that now you can use Sync Framework v2 to create your own providers and then he announced the Huron Early Adopter Program and rolled out the roadmap for Huron. We moved on to our final demo which was a walkthrough of the WSDL of the Sync Service
