Syllabus for US Economics—E. Naura

My goal is to help prepare students for real world experiences where anything less then professionalism will not be tolerated nor accepted.

Class Expectations:

Academic Integrity – No cheating is allowed in any form. This includes, but is not limited to using another’s work as your own, copying, plagiarism, use of cell phone or any other suspicious behavior. If a student cheats in any form, they will receive a “zero” on that assessment and no makeup is allowed. If there becomes a pattern of cheating, further disciplinary action will take place.

Grading:

Dearborn Public Schools grading policy requires final grades to be determined by 80% Summative (test/quiz/project scores) and 20% Formative(homework and class work).

Supplies:

Students will be required to come to class prepared to work. This means that I will expect students to have paper, pencil or pen and their text book. Students should make sure that they have a binder or notebook used solely for this class. All papers should be labeled according to class policy. Corrected papers handed back to students should be kept through the end of each semester in their class binder. If there is a dispute over a grade entered and the paper has been handed back, it is the STUDENTS responsibility to provide proof that a mistake was made.

Chromebooks:

We are fortunate enough to have our own class set of Chromebook. Students are responsible for the Chromebook you’re assigned during your class period. If there is anything wrong with your assigned Chromebook, it’s your responsibility to notify the teacher at the BEGINNING of the hour. Students are responsible for any damage to your assigned Chromebook. ACADEMIC INTEGRITY IS A MUST WHILE USING THE CHROMEBOOKS. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT CHEATING, IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE CONSEQUENCES, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR CHROMEBOOK PRIVALIGE FOR THE REST OF THE SEMESTER AND HAVE TO COMPLETE ALL ASSIGNMENTS AFTER SCHOOL HOURS.

Retakes:

Students will be allowed to do re-takes only if all work for that chapter has been turned in, the absence was excused, and a minimum of 2 hours of afterschool tutoring was completed for the test they are retaking. Only tutoring sessions offered by Fordson are acceptable.

US Economics Course Outline

Economics Principles and Practices

This one semester course explores choices and decisions about how to use the world’s limited resources.
