SWVJ Player/Parent Expectations Agreement

Player Expectations

Players are expected to:

1. Always conduct themselves in a manner which is honoring to themselves, their parents, their school, and SWVJ. Profanity, showing visible frustration, unsportsmanlike conduct, and disrespect for coaches, teammates, family (ESPECIALLY YOUR PARENTS!) and opponents is unacceptable behavior and will not be tolerated. If such behavior becomes a trend you may be asked to resign your membership in SWVJ. Your dues will be prorated for the remainder of the season.

2. On team trips players are to follow all the above rules with extra vigilance.

3. Behavior which is unlawful will result in immediate dismissal from SWVJ. Again dues will be prorated.

4. Please arrive at practice on time. In fact be early. The gym will usually be open 10 minutes prior to the start of practice.

5. Players are expected to attend practice, but it’s your dollar. If you choose not to come to practice you don’t get better and your parents waste their money. The staff understands that conflicts arise and that some players are multi-sport athletes and this may interfere, but please try to attend practice all the time.

6. Your teammates are almost like family. They deserve your utmost respect and caring. There will be times when your teammates and coaches will be the only ones cheering for you. Do the same for them.

7. At practice have your kneepads up, shoes tied, and head and hearts ready when the first circle is called.

8. Work hard to get better. You do not get back wasted moments.

Parents Expectations

Parents are expected too:

1. Give your child your unwavering support as they seek to improve their volleyball skills. The staff would also appreciate the same.

2. Please pay your dues and fees on time. Players whose dues fall behind will not be allowed to practice or compete. Dues are due in 2 installments. Initial payment is due prior to the first practice, 2nd payment is due in early January. See the dues and fee structure sheet for more complete information. Dues are to be sent to the club director, not given to the coach. Mailing instructions are on the dues and fees sheet.

3. Provide transportation for your child to practices and competitions or make arrangements for such. Staff members will not be responsible for transporting athletes.

4. Please come to the staff with concerns rather than discussing it outside in the community. The community can’t fix the problem but maybe the staff can.

5. Cheer like crazy from the stands, FOR ALL THE PLAYERS!

6. Please stress for your child that the above rules MUST be followed.

7: PLEASE SEE BELOW!!!
