Title: The Swiss Asian Summer School in Public Administration

Each institution participates with three doctoral students and one facultymember in the summer school. The topics addressed cover contemporary discussions in public administration and are sufficiently broad to allow participants to present their current research. Faculty members are expected to lecture about the aspects of the administrative system in their respective country, which are of interest to scholars from other countries.

In 2018, the Summer School takes place at GSPA, Seoul National University, Korea, from July 1 to July 7. We are planning for about30 participants from China (Chinese Academy of Governance,Renmin University, SunYat Sen University), Singapore (Lee Kuan Yew School), Thailand (Chiang Mai University), Switzerland (University of Lausanne), and South Korea (Seoul National University).

The topics will include: Accountability and Transparency; Globalization and Good Governance; Democracy and Citizen Participation; Public Budgeting; E-Government; and Others.

The PhD students will have the opportunity to present their projects and discuss them with their peers and more experienced scholars. Interactive workshops and plenary sessions as well as field visits and evening events are planned throughout the Summer school.

The host institution covers the costs for catering (lunch and Gala dinner), accommodation and selected excursions. Travelling is to the expenses of the participating institutions.
