Latin and African Dance, Wednesday - Mrs. Mancini, with Mr. Greg Coles

This class will involve learning dances from Latin and South America and Senegal. Students will learn basic steps and combinations at first and slowly move into more advanced choreography. They will gain an understanding of the cultures of the countries from which these dances originated. The music is fun and lively and is mostly in French or Spanish. Get those dancing shoes ready and prepare to “wow” your friends at the next “fiesta” or “fete”. Mr. Coles is a professional dance instructor and offers this course at other area middle schools.

Grade 5 and 6 Basketball, Wednesday – Ms. Bonomolo and Mrs. Watson

Students will be placed on teams which will play against each other building to a December Dizziness Playoff.

Swampscott Middle and High School Latin Club, Wednesday–

Ms. Boots-Ebenfield

If you are interested in all things Roman, this is the club for you. We will explore Roman history, mythology, military, food, coins, just about anything. Of course, we will also learn a little extra Latin. A few high school Latin students will join us at our Wednesday meetings. We already have some bonding activities planned, such as a trip to King Richard’s Faire this fall, and snow tubing in the winter. Extra activities will cost money for admission, student food, and transportation. All 7th and 8th grade students are welcome – YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAKE LATIN TO JOIN!

Dodgeball – Thursday – Mr. Brown

Come have some fun and burn some energy at Thursday afternoon Dodgeball.
