APRIL – Management CommitteeUpdate cont./

4ACCESS PLOTS;

The committee has decided to trial ‘ACCESS PLOTS’ for members who are experiencing difficulty in bending to cultivate their plots. The raised bed planting areas provided by the Society will be constructed on the ¼ plot, 28A1 and be leased out to members on a first come first served basis for a nominal rent (yet to be determined) for an agreed time scale. The spaces between the raised beds will be levelled but not hard paved yet. If the trial is a success then it will be continued in subsequent years incorporating any fed back improvements suggested by members.

It is hoped that this initiative will not only assist access for our members but enable the Society to broaden its appeal to all members of the community who may be reluctant to cultivate a ground level plot due to a physical impairment. Your thoughts on this initiative would be most welcome.

5WATER SUPPLY ACTIVATED; the water stand pipes are now switched on.

6PLOT ALLOCATIONS; all plots are now allocated to new members and the waiting list currently stands at 4no. applicants.

7PLOT INSPECTION; please note that the committee will be holding its first general plot inspection of the new year during May.

HAPPY GARDENING!!
