Sustainment Test Engineer

Location: Hanscom AFB (Bedford, MA)

Clearance Required: Secret

Anticipated Start Date: Immediate

PCI is actively seeking aSustainment Test Engineer to provide System Engineering support to the Force Protection Division, which is within the US Air Force (USAF) Battle Management Directorate (AFLCMC/HB) at Hanscom AFB, MA.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience may be substituted for education requirements.
  • Experience on Department of Defense or Air Force acquisition programs is highly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Candidate must obtain, and maintain, the proper personnel clearance for this position – Secret

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement activities to meet key performance metrics for reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM).
  • Perform activities necessary to ensure cost-effective support to achieve peacetime and wartime readiness and performance requirements over a system's life-cycle.
  • Root cause analysis of in-service problems (including operational hazards, deficiency reports, parts obsolescence, corrosion effects, and reliability degradation).
  • Technical surveillance of critical safety items, research approved sources for these items, and oversight of design configuration baselines for fielded systems to ensure continued certification compliance.
  • Develop required design changes to resolve operational issues.
  • Perform periodic technical reviews of the in-service system performance against baseline requirements, analyze trends, and develop management approaches for resolution of operational issues.
  • Support technology refresh, technology insertion, and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Materiel Shortages (DMSMS).
  • Review system drawings, schematics, and documentation for form fit function and interface alternatives.
  • Assist with hardware/software design, RAM studies, risk assessments, and cost estimates.
  • Participate in Supply Support Integrated Product Team identifying sustainment high interest items, design improvements, deficiencies, and watch items.
