SOMERSET LPC BULLETIN W/C 10/8/15

Welcome to this week’s LPC Bulletin, the top news concerning pharmacy in Somerset is outlined below. If you would like anything specific included in the future please email us and let us know.

Flu Service

As you are all now aware the national service is going ahead. Please book onto our engagement evenings. They are really important in making sure that all your team knows what to expect. All of last years top performers attended these engagement evenings. In addition to inviting pharmacists we are also inviting any members of your team. Wouldn’t it be useful for your dispenser to know which prescriptions to mark up as eligible without you having to explain, or your health care assistant flagging suitable people for you?

If you have already booked a place but would like to invite more of your team please just submit another attendance

For catering purposes the deadline for booking is 21/8/15

If you have any regular locums or know of any locums that would like to attend vaccination training please also direct them to the above link.

Supervised Consumption and Claims on PharmOutcomes

It has been noted that the number of supervised claims has decreased dramatically from 886 in June to 587 in July. Please can all pharmacies check that all of the blue supervised scripts have been entered onto PharmOutcomes. Remember this is how you get paid, if the scripts are not entered then you will not receive payment!

It maybe worth looking at the process in which prescriptions are entered onto PharmOutcomes, ideally when the scripts are counted on a daily basis any supervised should be entered onto the screen at this time. THIS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE DONE BY THE PHARMACIST. 299 missing claims is a very large number!!!

PharmOutcomes

We have had a number on enquiries about if you can preview your claims on PharmOutcomes. The answer is yes!

1. Log on to PharmOutcomes

2. Click the tab at the top, which says claims:

3. Then click on the button on the left hand side, which says preview claims. This will bring up the following preview:

Christmas Bank Holidays

Saturday 26th December is classified as a normal working day, therefore pharmacies that only work supplementary hours on a Saturday and wish to close need to fill in the forms on the psnc website by 25.9.15. If you wish to change your core hours then notification also needs to put in by this date, however it is unlikely that this will be allowed. Please see below link:
