Comment Responses:
Most definitely it would positively impact me. Other schools' libraries, outisde of claremont, open much later than ours with some even having 24/7 libraries. This would be perfect for claremont.
I would rather Hunnold's doors open later in the morning and have them stay open later.
Anything to keep Honnold-Mudd open until 4AM is a plus in my book.
It depends--if Denison closed earlier on the weekends, when they already close at like 5/7 p.m., that would SUCK. But it doesn't really need to be open until midnight Sun-Thurs--10 or 11 would be fine
Because I use Seeley library till closing, closing this library earlier than its already very early closing time would have a very negative impact.
since a lot of my info is at Denison, it would suck to close it earlier just to have Honnold open
this is a college the library should never close it's ridiculous that it does
the other libraries have the benefit of additional space to spread out crowds though
I would LOVE if Honnold Mudd opened at 6:30AM. I think 8AM is TOO LATE for a main library.
i just get books out at other libraries
it's ridiculous that thelibrary closes so early on the weekends. those are the only days i can stay up late doing work w/o having to wake up early in the morning.
I use Pitzer's Mead Library
Honnold Mudd needs to take a page out of Denison's book in terms of asthetics. It really makes a difference
I have needed to use Sprague and had it be closed several times already this year
I really wish HM was open later
I rely on Mudd's quiet study rooms for nights prior to tests and to simply do my homework. Honnold Mudd doesn't supply an environment that satisfies my study needs.
I wish Denison stayed open later
Denison isn't open late enough as it is
don't close denison earlier!
sprague is like the only quiet/nice place to study on Mudd. It's sooo much more useful than Honnold!!!!
Sprague should be open later on Sunday.
The only problem would be that Honnold gets crowded as it is, so more people would go knowing it is open later. Honnold needs more tables, lighting and seating.
In a perfect world, Denison and Honnold could both open earlier and stay open later... but overall, a positive impact.
I would prefer Denison stay open later on Fri and Sat--5PM and 7PM is really early to close on weekends (prime study time)
If it's Denison, this would be worse. Otherwise, I don't care.
I would like Denison to be open earlier on the weekend and later on Friday
I think more librabry's should be like the one at Pitzer. The Mead one.
I prefer Denison!
I think the Honnold Library should consider opening earlier, not later. My undergrad library opened at 6am and people were waiting at the door. There are earlybirds out there too, you know.
Denison already opens late on the weekends and is not open very late any of the days. I would really not like to see Denison closed just to keep Honnold Mudd open.
I would like it if the Seeley G. Mudd library were open later.
I like having my 'loca' library (Sprague) open instead.
the scientific journals and science texts that teachers put on reserve there are very useful and i often use them late at night, because this is the only available time i can do so due to lab, etc.
Denison should be open later!!
I usually go to Seeley G Mudd to get articles/books that I won't find at Honnold Mudd
If SGM closed earlier it would interrupt a lot of study group schedules since 9-11 is a good time for everyone to be able to meet. If it was open until 12 am Sun-Thurs that would even be nice
the library needs to be open later.

17) / Are there services you wish the library provided which they do not?
Order the books that I need.
The copier isn't very user-friendly; I make the copy center do my copying because it's so inconvenient to do it myself.
Study rooms would be great!
Passport photos at the CopyCenter.
food! we're poor students!
free printing for cmc students. open 24 hours.
Video and media check out
MORE LATE HOURS, especially on weekends! That's when the people who need to do work need to do it the most, and do it forever! We dont' even need librarians at the latest hours, we just need a place to go work where our roommates aren't plaguing us.
No. Just later hours.
I wish we could eat and drink in the library. Food is such an essential part of a studying experience. We can take care of our surroundings, I promise. I really like the library and food system at WhitmanCollege - you should check it out.
Recommended book list with short reviews/descriptions.
Yes, some way of printing, either from a laptop or the library computers. A small shop that would sell highlighters, pens, notebooks, etc. would also be helpful.
Wireless Internet
Their DVD collection has a lot of popular movies in addition to academic ones. If it had a few more of the mainstream titles and were more accessible (ie, visible, rather than in a back room, or at least easily searchable online) it would be a huge resource.
more accessible wireless access (cmcnet)
free printing!
A place that sells snacks/drinks.
easier acces to the study rooms, as well as more of them. Places where one can go to seclude himself from noises.
More comfortable, quiet spaces to study. (i.e. sofas, etc)
Make it easier to check out DVD's. I hear they have lots and nobody knows about it and most of the librarians didn't really seem to know how to find/check them out. Also, MORE OUTLETS AND ETHERNET PLUGS!!!!! There are not enough!!!!!
It is especially important to me that the library be open later on the weekends.
A snack bar would be great, a little cafe with drinks or even just vending machines with an eating area, the Motely or the Coop is a long way to walk for a quick break
better internet/wireless service-there are limited plugs for Ethernets and getting wireless signals in there is difficult
new books, more current magazines/movies/cds to check out.
More Movies!
better wireless internet and more internet jacks for cords
Coffee stand. Bean bag chairs.
Tutors for various subjects.
Cheaper printing. Or at least a free printing quota (even if it is small). When I go I often need to print out a list of sources to go look for, and its annoying that I can't just print one page and must write down the info instead.
package mailing, reserve study rooms online
Group study rooms
snacks. comfy seats. homey, quiet reading room
-Coffee -easier photocopying -comfy chairs -more movies and movie rooms -cd's -more foreign language stuff (portuguese)
A Map!! iMacs, Free Printing (can be billed to respective school), Snack room, orientations programs and training.
I really just wished the library stayed open later monday-thursday for studying...it would be really helpful.
More periodicals.
competent front desk help... though they are nice people
Can't think of any.
No, except I wish the library stayed open longer hours on the week days.
Free Printing
printing from our pomona accounts, it is ridiculous to have to pay! Rental of new movies for free-other school do it
