Ridley Martin Cup & Ridley Martin Shield

  1. Venue: Tooting Graveney School, Welham Road, Tooting,LONDONSW17 9BU. Sports Hall is to the South of Welham Rd, behind the lower school - please note the barrier across the road at the Mitcham Lane end.
  2. Check In Times (these are “close of report” times): Men’s Individual 10.00, Ladies Individual 12.00
  3. Payment: Cheque payable to “Surrey County Fencing Union” £15.00 if received by 20th April - £20 otherwise.
  4. BFA Cards: Bring your British Fencing Association membership card with you and show it at check-in.
  5. Eligibility. This competition is open to all fencers who have not: won it before, or made the final (last 8) of the senior National Championships, the Cole Cup, or the Corble Cup. There will also be a women's event (Ridley Martin Shield); the rules will be the same as for the men's event (open to fencers who have not made the final of the senior National Championships, England Cup or Cole Cup or who are previous winners.).
  6. Referee: If your club can bring a referee, this will help the smooth running of the competition.
  7. Kit: You must bring your kit in good working order and in a safe condition, conforming to BFA rules. The organiser reserves the right to refuse to allow a fencer to compete in kit he considers to be unsafe. Plastrons are mandatory.
  8. All fencers must be age 13 years or over before 1st January in the season of the event. The season runs from 1st September to 31st August. (i.e. Fencers must be born in 1996 or earlier).
  9. All fencers must participate in accordance with BFA Safety Guidelines (see BFA website).
  10. Please do bring you own provisions but do not consume or spill sticky drinks in the sports hall. Your entry fee does not include cleaning of the sports hall; we are relying on no one spilling any food or drink.
  11. Disclaimer: All fencers are reminded that they compete at their own risk. The organisers will take all reasonable care, but do not accept liability for loss or injury, howsoever caused. For Under 18 competitors a parent or guardian must sign the entry form. If you are under 18 and object to photography then consult the organiser.
