THE PRAYER OF THE DAY
Dear Heavenly Father, we are mindful of those in our land who are called into military service to defend their country at great personal sacrifice. Keep them from becoming bitter or discouraged. Help them to know Your divine presence in their lives and that, come what may, help all things to work together for their ultimate good. Grant them courage to perform all their duties well. Keep their minds and bodies pure. Shield them from harm and temptation. In doubts and fears give them a conquering faith. Enable them ever so to live and to serve that they will be your effectual witnesses. Lord, soon end all strife and establish peace among the people of earth. Meanwhile we entrust our loved ones to Your guidance and care. In your holy name we pray. AMEN.

SERMON “A Test of Faith” Rev. Tom Bingol
THE APOSTLE’S CREED
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE “PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS”
THE CANDLELIGHTING CEREMONY
P:The Lord be with you.
C:And also with you.
P:Let us pray:
Almighty God, those who die in the Lord still live with you in joy and blessedness. We give you heartfelt thanks for the mercy you have bestowed upon your servants who have finished their course in faith and now rest from their labors. We remember before you today, all who have given their lives in service to their country’s Armed Forces. May all who have died in the true faith, have perfect fulfillment and joy in your eternal and everlasting glory; we give you thanks, O God.
C:Amen.
