Aim: To improve the knowledge and confidence of managers and front-line staff in working with the needs of people who have sexual offence convictions or other harmful sexual behaviours.
Outcomes - At the end of this training you will:
● Understanding what is meant by the term ‘harmful sexual behaviours’, and who is affected by them
● Have knowledge of the legal framework that statutory agencies use to manage sex offenders
● Have a framework for understanding risk factors relating to harmful sexual behaviours
● Have an understanding of what helps clients to live safe lives
● Have greater confidence in your abilities to support clients, and be able to understand how to balance this with the potential risks.
This interactive one day training breaks down the myths of working with sex offenders and others with harmful sexual behaviours, and demystifies the work of statutory and other agencies, leaving delegates clear about what they can do to support people to live healthy and safer lives.
