Summary
Vauxhall City Farm is a growing and ambitious charity. The farm is entering an exciting phase as we are due to open a multi million pound development in late 2015 which will transform the charity. We are currently an exceptional Trustees to strategically lead our fundraising efforts and support staff to achieve targets set by the board. Our vision is a city where people from all communities are empowered to experience nature to enhance their health, wellbeing and life chances. Our mission, therefore, is to use the setting of an urban farm to provide educational, recreational and therapeutic activities that:
Support children and disadvantaged people to boost their confidence and aspirations
Promote emotional, mental, social and physical wellbeing
Develop environmental awareness and action
Strengthen community cohesion
Create enjoyment for members of the public.
We're a registered charity providing visitors and the local community with educational activities, riding lessons and a peaceful escape from city life. As a medium sized charitable organisation looking to grow, this also offers candidates an opportunity for personal and professional growth.
Job Desciption
To work and advise the Board on fundraising, with particular focus on:
Ability to advise on fundraising methods
Experienced and therefore overview management of CRM applications
Monitor large fundraising appeals / campaigns
Advise the board on current fundraising trends, legilisation and compliance
Advise staff and trustees on large grant / trust applications
Ensure a clear vision, mission and strategic direction for the Charity – setting overall policy, defining goals, setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets
Ensure that Vauxhall City Farm is sustainable, well-run, and delivering the charitable outcomes for which it has been set up
Maintain an strategic overview of the Charity, ensuring that it operates within the legal and financial guidelines set out in current charity legislation, and within the requirementsof the Charity Commission as regulator; in particular ensure that the Charity preparesreports on what it has achieved and annual returns and accounts as required by lawand company law
Ensure the Charity operates within the terms of its Constitution and Memorandum and Articles of Association and that it remains true to its charitable purpose and objects
To comply with the arrangements made to deliver services in accordance with the Vauxhall City Farms Equal Opportunities Policy.
To adhere to all health and safety instructions and not to do anything that might endanger themselves or others; to report to their line manager any dangerous situations in the work place or any shortcomings in health and safety arrangements that they perceive.
Special Conditions
Ths position may involve contact with young people. The postholder will therefore be subject to a criminal records bureau clearance on appointment and on an appropriate review basis thereafter.
