SUPPLY LIST FOR NUNO BANGLES, CUFFS, AND BRACELETS

Here is the list of supplies you will need to bring to class:

  1. 2 buckets, one small (2 quart size) and one medium (gallon size) large enough for your felting spray bottle to fit into,and whatever Felting supplies you normally use. (I will provide the soap)
  2. 4 cell-o sponges (The cheap brightly colored sponges in the cleaning section) NOT FOAM
  3. Scissors
  4. Olfa cutter plus small mat for cutting fabric and prefelts
  5. Straight pins
  6. Measuring tape
  7. Notebook and pen or pencil
  8. Round Bamboo Sushi mat
  9. Bic single edge "Sensitive" disposable razors
  10. Small pieces of plastic for resist
  11. Working Sewing Machine (if desired for stitching tucks on cuff) (or can hand stitch).
  12. Embellishment machine or Needle Felting Tool (I will bring mine to share) This is for embellishing your prefelt for the large cuff.
  13. Needles and Thread (can be heavy duty and regular.)
  14. Shibori or printed Gauze, Organza and Paj silks for Nuno Felting. (At least 1 yard) The amount is dependent on how many nuno bangles you will make.
  15. Merino Prefelts in Black and Colors of your choice at least 12" x 12" square can be 13" or 14" square as well and 1 to 3 oz Merinowool to make your own Prefelts. (We will be making our own prefelt for the large cuff.
  16. 2 to 5 oz Merino Wool roving for cordage in color of choice or more, can also use multi colored batts, silk/Merino wool combos, ultra fine merinoblends and interesting fibers (such as silk, mohair locks, sparkly fibers for embellishment of large cuff.
  17. If you want to do the 3 layer wild cordage bracelet you will need the following: Organza strips 1/4" wide (we can tear in class) and at least 30" long and contrasting strips 1/4" wide 4-6" long.

Beads or Charms of your choice with hole large enough for organza strip to fit thru, a flexible beading needle (the kind with a big loop at the end) or can use the stiff bead wire and make your own. A "special" bead or charm for the front of bracelet (if desired). Needle and thread to match to secure things in place.

You may want to think about coordinating your Merino wool, organza and beads so they all fit together in a pleasing wild artful way.

I will be providing the Olive Oil soap, Dyes and Vinegar, ribbed mats for use and a Basic Handout for each bracelet/bangle/cuff design.

Supply fee is $25.00 I will also have some hand dyed wools and silks for sale.
