aUFMGCB = Culture of Microorganisms and Cells of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais; bChlo = chloramphenicol;cAmph B = amphotericin B; dEto = etoposide; eBenz = benznidazole; fBenomyl; gDengue virus= % of Dengue virus 2 cytopathic effect inhibition in the presence of 25 ug mL-1 of extract; - = not assayed.E. coli = Escherichia coli; S. aureus = Staphylococcus aureus; P. aeruginosa = Pseudomonas aeruginosa; C. albicans = Candida albicans; C. krusei = Candida krusei; C. sphaerosperum = Cladosporium sphaerosperum; MCF-7 = breast tumor cell; TK-10 = renal tumor cell; T. cruzi = Trypanosoma cruzi and L. amazonensis = Leishmania amazonensis. For the antimicrobial activity, the extracts assayed at 250 µg mL-1. For the cytotoxic, leishmanicidal and trypanocidal activities, the extracts were assayed at20 μg mL-1 for use in the cytotoxic assays. In bold the extracts that displayed activities ≥ 70% or activities close those of the control drugs used for each assay.
