SUNY Cross-Registration Checklist for CAS Majors

In order to be covered by UB tuition, ALL of the following criteria must be met:
Student is matriculated at UB
Student’s cumulative UB GPA is 2.0 or greater
Student’s most recent semester GPA is 2.0 or greater
Student is enrolled in at least 6 UB degree-applicable course credits during term
Student is not requesting more than 6 cross-reg credits
Student UB + cross-reg courses will not exceed 19 cr (unless approved with override)
Cross-reg course(s) have approved Taurus articulations
Student cannot take course at UB for one or more of the following reasons
(check all that apply):
Class is not offered in upcoming semester and no alternate is available at UB
Class isclosed
Reserved seats are not available to student
Time conflict with no alternative sections (Conflicts with: )
Student is blocked from UB class by CEC
Third+ enrollment and department will not force (department must accept
cross-reg course for major credit)
Course is second in sequence and both are needed for full articulation at UB
Student cannot be in WNY due to clinical assignment

SUNY Cross-Registration Procedure:
- Student meets with academic advisor, reviews need to cross-register
- Advisor discusses alternate options
- If other options are not available, advisor completes checklist with student
- Advisor gives completed checklist to Brian
- Student goes online to complete the request form:
- Student selects “Buffalo Univ” from the list as Home Institution
- Brian reviews request online
- Financial Aid and Registrar offices review request online
- If approved, student must contact host institution for registration
- If host institution is a community college, student must present certificate of residency (even if student is not a resident of that county)
- Upon completion of the course, the host institution will automatically send a transcript to UB
Notes:
SUNY cross-registration rules apply to ALL SUNY schools, including those in WNY. WNY Consortium Cross-Registration procedures are for non-SUNY schools only.
Student must present certificate of residency if the host institution is a community college.
SUNY Cross-Registration is for fall and spring semesters only. Students wishing to enroll during winter or summer sessions enroll at the host school independently.
Elective courses for major are not eligible for SUNY cross-registration unless ALL other options at UB are unavailable to the student.
