Statement of approach to patient care & professional background:
Dr Michael Hii is an oesophago-gastric and bariatric surgeon who has recently started consulting at Wyndham Private Specialist Consulting rooms. We hope you will consider his skills for your patients with upper gastrointestinal problems and general surgical problems.
Dr Hii is a Melbourne University graduate and trained at St Vincent’s Public and Box Hill hospitals. He recently completed 3 years of post fellowship training in Victoria and Queensland, including 18 months with the busiest oesophago-gastric cancer, and revision obesity surgery units in the country. Dr Hii continues public appointments at St Vincent’s and the Eastern Health Network. Dr Hii is involved in teaching and research and is a senior lecturer with the University of Queensland. He has published extensively and has presented at multiple regional and international meetings.
He is committed to excellence in surgery, optimal patient care and careful, thorough and prompt communication to all members of the medical community, including and especially the referring network.

· Reflux disease and the investigation of dysphagia
· Hiatal hernia surgery
· Obesity surgery including gastric banding, gastric sleeve resection and Roux en y gastric bypass. (Dr Hii is also well versed in managing revision surgery requirements)
