Sponsorship Recruitment - URGENT
- Sales sheet flyer distributed to speak to benefits, what AFS is, and sponsorship levels. I will put up on website also.
- Yes, any donation will be gratefully accepted and recognized. But organizational sponsorship levels within the document are key and have specific recognition.
- Goal: each participant to identify a minimum of 2 organizations to approach and make that approach by next meeting December 10. Check the list below or add your own. Consider who you know: neighbors, friends, church members, work, other organization members… and then ask to be introduced to the decision maker and potentially ask for their help pitching.
- Holiday parties are a great opportunity to see people you know and approach about sponsorships, dollar donations, silent auction donations or ticket sales. Take the flyer around with you. Individuals are expecting donation requests during the holidays, and organizations are often looking for last tax deductible donations before December 31
- TASK FOR ALL: Please identify at least 2 organizations, either from the list below or one you have a contact at, and approach for sponsorship opportunity before Dec 10. Share the organization and contact with the group so we know what holes still exist.
STARTING LIST: Belk, Family Dollar, Duke Energy, Bank of America, Coca Cola, Harris Teeter, Sonic Automotive, Lowes (Hensen’s?), PNC Bank, Red Ventures (Casey Nelson), Frank Scibelli (owner of Mama Ricottas?), Spectrum, Electrolux, Parkdale Manufacturing, SPX (Amanda Buchanan), Publix, Novant, CHS, car dealerships?, beer distributors? (David Barker at Sharon Pres Church), Amalie’s Bakery (owner Willets at Sharon Pres Church)
IDEAS FOR YOUR APPROACH:
- Identify what their philanthropic goals are and look for connections to economic mobility, education, diversity, interculturalism, local economy, …
- Share that we are a 501c nonprofit, so donations and sponsorships are tax deductible and relevant to 2017 taxes through Dec 31.
- Educate them on AFS ‘s mission – world peace – its connection to Charlotte’s key goals economic mobility – the events uniquely diverse visibility & success last year – and the fundraiser objective of sending local students of needs on a life-transforming intercultural experience.
- If sponsorship is not an option, seek individual donations. If relevant, seek silent auction donations (minimum fair market value over $100)
- Regardless of response identify if individual would be willing to share their contact info (name, email, phone, address) or introduce you to someone they think would be interested in attending, so we can send event details.
