Summer School 2012 Intersession Photo Contest

DO YOU WANT TO WIN UP TO $250 FOR YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY?

Submit photos from your 2012 Summer School Intersession Course experience for a chance to win a cash prize and to have your picture(s) featured around campus and in information about FSU Summer School.

WHO MAY ENTER?

Any FSU Summer School student who has participated in an Intersession course or the Foreign Language 220 course

WHAT TO ENTER?

You may submit up to 10 photos that you took during your Intersession or FORL 220 course.

The photos should capture an experience or record an observation, and should represent the ideals of the course (academic learning, cultural appreciation, international awareness, landscapes, nature, urban scenes, architecture, people and culture, Bronco pride, etc.).

Photo tips:

  • Make sure there is balance and clarity in the set-up of your photos so that the subject(s) are framed in the best possible way.
  • Get the right light. Shoot with direct light behind you, the photographer. Watch for shadows on your subject(s). Make sure people are not in the shade or in darkly lit situations.

Please submit high resolution, unedited digital photos.

Please note:

  • Photos must have been taken by the Intersession or FORL 220 student submitting the photo.
  • The pictures can be captured at an on- or off-site location related to the Intersession or FORL 220 course.

HOW TO ENTER?

Upload your photo on the Summer School Blackboard site under the Contest Blog. Include your name and a description of the photo.

ENTRY DEADLINE

Photos and entry forms must be received on the Summer School Blackboard site no later than:

  • Intersession Courses ending June 2, 2012: Submit by June 8, 2012
  • Foreign Language 220 Course ending June 10, 2012: Submit by June 20, 2012

JUDGING

A panel of judges will review all photo entries and select the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Winners will be notified by email and announced on the Summer School website by July 20, 2012.

PRIZES

All pictures will have a chance to be highlighted on the Summer School website and may be included in Summer School materials.

The winners will receive:

1st Place$250

2nd Place$150

3rd Place$100

Fayetteville State University reserves the right to use all submitted photos on the website, in printed informational materials, and with other FSU promotional items.

FSU also reserves the right to disqualify photos as inappropriate and/or ineligible for competition and use. Failure to follow the guidelines and/or falsification of information on the entry form will result in immediate disqualification for the contest and forfeit thestudent’s claim of any prize.
