Summer Music Lessons
GUITAR APPLICATION
WHO can sign up? Any student entering grades 4-12, who wants to learn and has a guitar. If you are a beginner, please buy a beginner guitar book. If you have previously taken lessons, please bring the book you used.
WHY take lessons during the summer? Summer lessons provide an excellent opportunity for students to further develop their musical talents. It is also an opportunity to focus more on fun music (pop, rock, jazz, etc), and guitar is awesome!
WHAT does the program offer? Each student receives five private half-hour lessons from Will Jenney, a Music Education major at SUNY Fredonia that has been studying guitar for 10 years. He is trained in jazz and classical but has a passion for all types of music!
WHEN? Lessons are once a week from July 9th-August 10th. If camp, vacation, or some other conflict will cause the student to miss a lesson, one make-up lesson will be available for each student. No-show lessons will not be rescheduled (please let us know ahead of time).
WHERE? Iroquois HIGH School (2111 Girdle Road, Elma)
HOW much does it cost? $85.00 for 5 private lessons (which breaks down to $17 per lesson). Most private teachers and music stores charge $16-20 for a half hour lesson.
TO APPLY: Send your application, a check for the full amount, payable to Iroquois Central Schools and a self-addressed stamped envelopeto Molly Williams through the mail, or give them to your child’s music teacher. Preference for day and time of lessons is given on a first come, first served basis, so get your applications in early! You will be notified by mail during the last week in June of your time and room.
