Room and Board Information

If you teach in a school that is located at a distance of more than 50-miles from WinthropUniversity, accommodations will be provided in the courtyard at WinthropUniversity.

You may check in June 22, 4PM - 6PM,Sunday or 5PM - 6 PMMonday,June 23.Meals are available at the Dinkins food court or Courtyard.

To check in:

Go to the front desk at The Courtyard and introduce yourself as a participant at the Summer Institute for Physical Science Teachers.Complete the key/information form and sign it to be given a room key. The key and two room condition reports will be given to you to complete.A staff member will then scan you access to the apartment area of the building and direct you in the direction of your room.You need to complete the forms and bring them back to the front desk.The key given to you will get you into your room. The staff will assist you in getting into the apartment area until the ID is made.

For Food:

Go through the Cashier’s line at Courtyard or Dinkins and introduce yourself as a participant at the Summer Institute for Physical Science Teachers.The cashier will have a list with your name provided by the dining services office to let you in.Once you get your ID, you will use it to go through the Cashier’s lines.

Please bring your own linen and things (bed sheets, blanket, towels, pillows, etc) and TV, since these are not available at the courtyard. If you leave during the weekend, June 27-29, there is no need to check out and turn in your keys. You will check out on July 3rd, by cleaning your room and turning in the keys. Directions are on the next page.

Directions to Campus

Southbound I-77:
Proceed to Exit 79 (Dave Lyle Boulevard/S.C. 122). At the end of the exit ramp, turn right. Travel 3.4 miles to Main Street and then turn left. At the first traffic light turn left onto Oakland Avenue. Within one mile you will begin to see Winthrop’s campus on the left and right. The main entrance of campus is on the left, at the corner of Oakland Avenue and Eden Terrace.

Northbound I-77:
Proceed to Exit 79 (Dave Lyle Boulevard/S.C. 122). At the end of the exit ramp, turn left. Follow instructions above.

At the main entrance, Oakland/Eden Terrace junction, Take a right into Oakland Avenue, then turn left into Cherry Road. After passing McDonalds on the right and before the railroad crossings, Take a left into Alumni Drive. The Courtyard is at 0.2 miles, on your right. Turn right into Columbia Avenue, and enter left almost immediately.
