Children’s Summer Story Hour – and Much More – gets started soon!
Activities & Events are free. All are welcome, even if you don’t have a card with us.
Children from Pre-School through 5th Grade can earn prizes for every five books they read (or have read to them) during the program.

June 30 (Wednesday) L.C. Bates Museum presents
1:00 PM Step Back Into a Maine Village in the Early 1900s
Learn about life in Maine 100 years ago with photos, tools, toys, clothing and more from long ago.
July 17 (Saturday) Milkweed Puppet Theater presents “The Sun’s Sister”
11:00 AM A colorful, lively fairytale from Lapland about friendship and the world of the sky.
July 28 (Wednesday) Touch-A-Truck – Benefit for the Library
Time & Additional Details Come explore all sorts of big trucks and machinery – Up close & hands-on!

July 31 (Saturday) L.C. Bates Museum presents
10:00 AM Maine’s Prehistoric Tools & native Americans
Learn about archeaology and ancient tools from Maine’s prehistoric hunter and gatherer period.
August 11 (Wednesday) L.C. Bates Museum presents Naturalist / Artist Program
10:00 AM Learn how naturalists use drawing & painting to record wildlife observations. Examine specimens & mounts, explore outside, and try your hand at recording nature with pencil & paint.
