Camp dates;Monday 22nd August - Saturday 27thAugust 2016
Camp cost:
Senior camp - £350 includes all meals, stabling, instruction & accommodation.
Junior camp - £170 (also includes accommodation and catering for one parent)
The branch subsidises camp every year. To run this camp we require at least 20 members to attend. With this in mind we offer this camp to members 10 years & over, the main criteria being that each child is physically able to look after their pony with minimal help for the week.
We will also include two days for juniors to come to camp (10 years and under) where they will be instructed, have full use of the amazing facilities and also stay the night (one parent to also attend). The dates for this will be Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th August.
Shavings which can be bought from Ardingly at £8bale.
VENUE
Horses will be stabled in wooden stable blocks on shaving beds. Children will sleep in the Rank Lodge, in double rooms with bunk beds. We will be self catering with a large kitchen and dining area with further indoor space available for bike storage and indoor recreation. Ardingly offers fantastic cross country facilities as well as show jumping, enclosed sand/rubber schools and the chance to ride where our international favourites do!
SCHEDULE
The main Senior Camp will start with arrivals and settling in on Monday 22ndAugust ready to
begin in earnest after lunch. Children will be expected to muck out, feed, groom, clean tack and ride up to twice a day. Adult supervision and instruction will be on hand at all times but the children will be expected tolook after their ponies themselves! Stable groups will be of mixed age with an older member as “Head Lad” to oversee their yard offering advice& help to younger members.We do try to make sure everyone has at least one friend with them on their yard and new friends are quickly made. Points will be awarded for all duties & riding progression and a prize giving will be held on the final day of camp. Evening activities willbe arranged to encourage team spirit and comradeship - all based on having fun. Also on the final day will be a ridden competition or display which we are hoping many parents will be able to come and watch before we pack up and go home.
BOOKING & PAYMENT TERMS
Booking forms MUST be received by 8th Junewith a deposit of £50 to secure your place. The remainer of the balance - £300 – must be paid prior to Camp by 15th August.
