Summer 2016 Reading List
- Feel free to locate summer reading books at your nearest library.
- For Incoming 8th Graders:
- Purpose: Scholars will be given lessons for the literary review which detail the importance of writing and defending a claim. Oppositely, when writing a summary, students will be instructed to choose important details from the novel all while avoiding passive voice and 1st person pronouns. This assignment sets academic language and rules to follow which will be applied throughout the entire school year.
- Assignment: Upon returning to school in August of 2016 scholars willcompose one literary review, and one detailed summary for the novels read over the summer.
