The following is a summary of the revised/new certification requirements.
Action is Required for currently certified products to comply with the new/revised certification requirements, as well as for previous Action Not Required certification requirements, as listed in this document.

Several new and revised clauses / Controls - revisions to the control requirements
· Clause 21.12 has been revised to only include switch requirements.
· New Clause 21.13 now incorporates the applicable controls requirements that were in old Clauses 24.12 and 24.13. The control requirements have been revised to include the relevant UL 60730 and software requirements. As a part of this new Clause 21.13, various control functions are specifically identified as operating or protective control functions and the UL 60730 parameters to be applied to each are outlined. In addition, definitions for operating and protective controls are also proposed to align with similar definitions included in UL 60730-1. Note clause 21.13.3.5 which includes the following requirements: “The secondary function control (Clause 17.6.2), door interlock (Clauses 17.1.2 and 17.7.1), door lock (Clauses 17.7.1), electronic braking means (Clause 17.7.1(b)), motor overload protection (Clause 21.7), temperature-limiting devices, combination temperature-regulating and -limiting devices, and any control relied upon for compliance with the abnormal operation testing of Clauses 16, 28.14, or 28.15 are considered and shall be tested and evaluated as protective controls.”
· Revisions to Clauses 3.1.11, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.1.3 and 26.2.4 and the addition of 3.1.11 are intended to clarify those requirements not applicable for low-voltage circuits.
· The definitions for temperature-regulating thermostat, temperature-limiting thermostat, and combined temperature-regulating thermostat in Clauses 3.1.32 through 3.1.34 have been revised to allow for devices other than thermostats and align with the terminology within the body of the standard. / New and Revised requirements –
