LUNCH PROCEDURE
Teachers are responsible for their students’ behavior to and from lunch. Students should be brought to lunch/wellness by their classroom teachers and picked up atby their teacher at the designated time. Sending one teacher to do this for the 180-240 students is an impossible job. Each teacher is responsible for his or her own students.
- Classroom teachers will review cafeteria rules/guidelines before bringing students to the concession area/cafeteria.
- All classrooms will direct feed. Remind students to ONLY sit in the assigned cafeteria area after getting their lunches. Students will need to use the restroom before getting into the cafeteria lines.
- As they finish eating, students are to clean up around their area and take their trays to the dump stations.
- Students are not to be up and moving in the cafeteria or in the concession area.
- Students will be lined up in assigned locations for TEACHERS TO PICK UP THEIR STUDENTS to go to wellness or return to their classrooms (only those classes which have wellness before lunch should report directly back to the classroom). **Classroom teachers should be prompt in picking up their students because whenever a group arrives late a backup is caused for other students arriving for lunch. Each day, classroom teachers and their students will participate in a five-minute wellness activity during the lunch block. This may be held outside on nice days or inside on days of inclement weather.

Unexpected Early Release w/Lunch
- Students will be directly fed through the lunch line.
- Staff members will stay with their students.
- All Staff will be called upon to assist with helping to monitor students, contacting parents/guardians, and maintaining general safety and welfare of school community.
- Groups will be called to the cafeteria in 20 minute increments (approximate) over the intercom, if possible.
- We will maintain the same lunch schedule as usual; however, the first group will eat in the cafeteria; the next group will be taken back to their respective classrooms to eat lunch. For clarification, Wagner, Albrecht, Bell, Rottman will be in their classroom. Bogosta, Stroup, Colvin, Marks will be in the cafeteria. Remind students to throw away all garbage in the trash can, and to be neat and orderly.
- Keep noise levels to a minimum; remember during early release students need to listen to latest announcements and, perhaps, students being called to the office!
- Teachers need to keep an accurate record of attendance as students are signing out early and being picked up early by parents or guardians.
- Be sure to check e-mail periodically for news updates.
