SUBJECT: Spring Ceremonial, Parade and General Information

May 20 – 21, 2016 – Kinston, NC

Enclosed is the Schedule of Events for our Spring Ceremonial in Kinston, along with a Parade line-up and map.

Friday night, May 20: the festivities will be at Woodmen Community Center. The Provost Guard will check cards and issue wrist bracelets.

Saturday, May 16

  • Candidates Committee and Medical Staff should report to Lenoir Community College(231 Hwy 58 S) at 7:00AM for novice registration
  • Ritualistic Cast should report to Lenoir Community College for the First Section, which commences at 9:00AM.
  • Provost Guard will furnish four (4) men to assist with handling of Candidates and will report to Noble Tom Rice, Director of Candidates by 7:00AM at the school.
  • Provost Guard will police the Business Meeting and First Section and Second Section held at Lenoir Community College. They are to be on hand to attend the doors at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled events to check 2016 Members dues cards.
  • Patrol’s Color Guard to present colors.
  • All Nobles are urged to attend the important Annual Stated Business Meeting on Saturday at 8:30AM.

Parade------Uniform Units can start lining up at 10:00AM at Grainger Stadium - steps off at 11:00pm. The actual route will travel down E Grainger St., left on N Queen St., left on East Washington and left on N East St. With construction downtown, this may change.

The Wrecking Crew Director is requested to submit list descriptions of stunts for approval to Potentate Cale Grady and Director Frank Long with a copy to Recorder George Raecher, 15 days prior to Ceremonial.

Unit Heads, would you please review with your members ARTICLE IV – DISCIPLINE Section 5 #2 about drinking ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, before or during a PARADE.

In accordance with the Board of Directors of Sudan, the following Guidelines are in effect with regards to all Shrine Parades. No Trailers Participate In Parades.

Chef Crew - the Moslem Feast immediately follows the parade and will be held at Lenoir Community College – Campus Grill & Courtyard. All nobles and ladies are invited to attend. Candidates, Divan, Past Potentates, Distinguished Guests, and Uniform Unit Members who have a part in the Second Section may go to head of the serving line, to ensure that they have sufficient time to report for opening of Second Section. The Second Section is to be held at the school gymnasium at 1:30PM.

Camel Drivers may set up their Jewelry / Merchandise in Lenoir Community College on Saturday.

Unit Heads are requested to check each member of his unit to be sure they have a 2016dues card. If anyone has any questions, do not hesitate to call the office or me. As always, your help is greatly appreciated.
